Birthday lunch

Jol brought Megan down from Swindon and we all went to Hungerford for a birthday lunch.

The Amore was busy and warm. The food was great - especially the risotto. We should probably have stopped there, because the desserts were disappointing.

Back at mum’s there are more presents on the doorstep. And a chocolate cake waiting next door. Megan and I opt for a brisk walk to Bedwyn along the canal, while Mum and Jol doze in front of the fire.

Later, i cook a tortilla, which none of us really need. The leftovers will keep for another day.

Megan and I watch Gwyneth Paltrow as Emma - which I haven’t seen for years. We decide that it brings out the comedy better than the more recent adaptation.
