Oops I did it again
Following on from yesterday’s blip, at just after 11 p.m. a sudden sneeze released another red river, worse than the previous one.
Following the walk-in centre doctor’s advice, Mr. Beewatcher drove me to the A&E department at East Surrey Hospital in Redhill. This was recently overwhelmed by the large numbers of patients and ambulances arriving every day, but not too bad yesterday. According to the large on-screen display there were 73 people waiting, but this is over the paediatric emergency department , the ambulance arrivals area, and the pedestrian entrance where we were.
I won’t go into details, but the staff were all very welcoming and efficient. I was discharged at 4 a.m. with the not unexpected diagnosis that I had a cold, which was causing the nosebleeds. Nothing to worry about, and all readings and ecg quite normal.
Mr. Beewatcher drove home along the deserted A23, to the sound of solitary birds warming up ahead of the dawn chorus.
No more bleeding today, but I’m taking it easy and doing a bit of light reading.
The lovely registrar at A&E did give me some advice though.
No hot drinks or soup, or food at a high temperature, for the next seven days.
And ( shock horror ! ) that includes coffee !!!
