Seattle Seaplanes Legend

Formerly called Chrysler Air.  We flew with Jim Chrysler in the mid 90s several times to the gulf Islands —when it was kind of affordable.    Haven’t seen him for a long time altho we love watching these planes getting worked on a lot on our walks.    Today there he was (with white mustache) heading out for  a bit of a solo ride in the little Cessna… so I thought I’d record it with the memory of being up near our Canadian island.  We had a new dock with pilings….we asked him if he could land there and he said “I can land anywhere” and he did..in between the pilings.   Our rowing club came up with them a few times but I think any other pilots had to go to the neighbor’s dock with no pilings in the way.   There is a very old plane he retrieved and resurrected from Alaska on their dock.   Oh how I wish we could hop in one and be there in an hour now.    Maybe someday.

Included the Ice Bear super yacht in the picture …no Idea why it was sitting there. It arrived in Seattle yesterday.   It's rather disgusting.  But the coots diving for weeds are an ever present delight  around the seaplane dock.
