Salim - The Olive Man

Hebden Bridge Outdoor Market has been Highly Commended in the 2023 Great British Market Awards.
This is Salim, a Greek olive seller from Afghanistan. He sells every kind of Olive imaginable - like his Great Fat Queen Olives stuffed with lemon.  He also sells Sweet Cloves of Pickled Garlic (my favourite) that crunch surprisingly odourlessly between your teeth. He's always there - in all weathers - and always with a smile on his face.
It's stall holders like him that make Hebden Bridge Market so very special.
