Garrya Elliptica

After a "chat" with blipper, shazzieb, I'm beginning to understand why this Garrya elliptica was being sold off for £10 in Edinburgh last week. It would seem it's fairly tolerant of most situations but will get its leaves burnt if exposed to cold winds. I think that's what's happened to this plant.

I've always admired these bushes so I'll prune it to its lower, healthier branches and see how it goes.

I got my current work at the studio finished so that's a lot of pressure off..... until next time. When I'm back in town I'll have to put everything back into "portrait orientation" ready for more of the firm's headshots we've been commissioned to take.
