Footings in place

As I was working in the garden all day today I noticed that our House Martins had started to rebuild their nest. I had to pull last years nest down as it had become unstable and I judged it better to remove it rather than risk it falling down with eggs or chicks in. Ever since I have been hoping to see rebuilding start - so hooray! And how amazing are these little birds to find their way back to our sheds and the exact spot of last years nest.
