Shine a Light

Some of the passageways in York are very narrow.
We are staying at the Bar Convent just outside the city wall at Micklegate.
The building is still a convent ( dating back to 1686 ) but the part we are staying in is a conference centre, guest house and cafe. The sign on the door states it welcomes all faiths and none.
We have eaten at a medieval pub in Stonegate where part of that building dates back to 1180!
