The Flint Mill

When you walk along our stretch of the canal you come to this old flint mill, no longer in use. There has been a mill on this site since 1253 and some of the foundations date back to this time.
Records show that in 1694 it was milling corn. In the late 18th century it was converted to grinding flint as there was much demand for it by the pottery industry.
