Rosa Pimpinellifolia

Aka burnet rose. The only place I've seen this growing is on the sand dunes at Vauville in Normandy although I believe it grows in the UK as well. There is a nature reserve at Vauville which is closed at the moment owing to flooding but I took this photograph on the dunes outside the reserve. It's a great place if you like photographing flowers. Bigger
