Strike Day

When I arrived at the hospital this afternoon I could hear the picket line before seeing it. Passing drivers were bipping their horns in support. I support the nurses and the ambulance staff too, it isn’t right that they have had and are continuing to have such a substantial real terms reduction in pay. The government position is nonsensical - and is not one they seem to apply to their own affairs. The NHS staff do not deserve a rough deal.

Extra - between hospital visiting times I walked down to nearby Rainhill. That might be a future blip, it’s an interesting place, but I couldn’t resist this view of the sun setting, taken from a footbridge adjacent to the railway station.
