The Island, Grasmere

We've relocated for a few days heading out in glorious conditions, which were to change as we neared our destination.  After driving up in the morning we took the opportunity for a walk around the local lake in very calm conditions; it's unusual to have reflections like this in the afternoon.

The walk was a good antidote to sitting in the car for more than three hours. I've added another couple of images to show how calm the conditions were.

After dinner in the hotel it is now tradition to sit down and play Scrabble. Luckily an old App on my tablet still works which allows us to pass n’ play (the rights to the game changed a few years ago and the new App doesn’t have that feature).  Tonight was remarkable for L’s best word, UNCOILED, scoring 140 points, because it straddled two triple word squares and used all of her tiles.  Needless to say I was whooped!
