Shade

The plants are starting to develop singed leaves, so I figured it was time for some shade. Once the troughs are covered, I call them my prairie schooners since they look so much like covered wagons. The shade cloths not only filter the sunlight, but they also help keep moisture in, a huge bonus in our climate. I did not figure this out until very late in the summer last year. I hope this means we will have a better harvest this year.
