Green wall

I haven't been out much for a few weeks as my knees have been giving me so much  trouble but it was such a lovely morning that I was motivated to pop down to Farnham town centre to complete a couple of errands and get some fresh air.

Whilst there, we walked to the Brightwells Yard development to see what progress has been made recently. Brightwells Yard is a mixed development of shops and flats currently under construction. As these things go the design is quite pleasant with a good mix of different architectural styles and varied use of building materials (see extra). What remains unclear is whether there will be sufficient uptake of the retail units to create a vibrant environment.  We wandered to the edge of the development where there is a multi-storey car park because I wanted to see the 'green' wall close up (I had seen it from afar whilst passing in the car). At the moment it looks lush and vibrant with a remarkable assortment of plant life. I was staggered to see some snowdrops (see extra) in there and quite high up, a couple of hellebores. I hope it will continue to be maintained so well. I once worked on a business park with a 'green' wall and a lot of the time it was quite ragged. But hats off to the council and/or the developers for at least trying something interesting.
