Bread
I was skeptical my bread would bake well this morning, it didn’t have much rise so I was very surprised when it turned out fine and actually tasted really good. I’ve switched flour to an M&S Canadian white, makes very nice bread. Here’s a blip of my bread recipes, I vary the size of my daily loaf according to how much starter I’ve got. Recently I’ve been making 500g loaves as they last us a day, we eat a lot of bread in this house. Toast and eggs for breakfast, sandwiches for lunch and bread and jam as a snack for S. I also made some delicious sticky prune teacakes from my small batch bakes book by ‘the boy who bakes’.
This morning our neighbours came over for a play and this afternoon I drove the pickup to a friend in Salen where we had a meet up with a group of children all born in the same few months. This group of first time mums were my lifeline for the first year, it’s lovely to see them all play together.
