At the mill

Went out with Peter this afternoon, trying to capture something nice, not too far from home.
We didn't have a plan to stick to, so somehow we ended up near Leek, at the Lettelberterpetten. A small nature reserve with a boardwalk through very wet lands. Although at first sight it all looked very beautiful, I didn't manage to capture anything worth keeping. I even didn't go on the boardwalk. I felt too dizzy and just didn't want to end up all wet and dirty.

Back at the car we decided to go to Groningen city for a change. City scaping seemed a good plan. But when I drove into the centre, it all got to me. Way too crowded and the light was still too harsh. But most of all: too many people. I just didn't see myself amongst them with my tripod and stuff. So we changed plans and headed to lake Paterswoldsemeer, with the mill De Helper.

Nobody around, so that was good. I soon found out I didn't have my little stopper filter with me. Bummer! And with the sun still high in the sky, it was game over for me. I tried a few shots, but the water was just to wild for a tranquil photo. What a pity.
Peter went off in another direction, and I went back to the car. While I was putting my camera gear in the bag, I suddenly realized where my little stopper was. A few months ago, in Scotland, I gave it a new place in my bag. And, yes,lo and behold, there it still was! Aha!! Game on again for me.

I went back and framed up the mill once again. This time, I knew the results were way better. Peter came back and we captured until the light was gone and then we went home for dinner and a couch and a warm and lazy Sunday evening.
