A colourful way to start the day

This morning, as I went on my usual walk, the weather was pleasantly cool and fresh. It was a bit too cool for the butterfly as it was hardly able to move. First I photographed it on the sidewalk. Then I coaxed it onto my hand so I could take a few more photos. After 27 photos I thought I had enough poses. As I continued on my walk I realized that I could have easily placed the butte on a plant or tree branch for a much more natural photo. I went back to where I found the butterfly but it was gone. I'm disappointed but am very pleased to have had the experience of viewing up close a butterfly resting on my hand. It was such a perfect butterfly with nothing to mar its appearance.
