Jack's birthday

A sunny and relaxed morning get-together for Jack's 40th.
We played easy charades, at which Luca proved very adept.  Frieda wasn't keen, and she opted to build a little house of cushions on the sofa instead. Eben loved it. He used to have a mini-meltdown whenever he lost in a game, but these days he's got over that.
Marianna had made a 15 minute video for Jack, composed of greetings sent in by family and friends in the UK and beyond. This had us alternately in fits of laughter and slightly tearful moments.  Ruth and I had both created homemade cards for Jack - hers with a long poem on the front, mine with two scanned images from his early days. I've put these in as extras, as they're two real favourites.  All in all, Jack had a good time.
