A Red Admiral on the 5th February
We visited the Evenley Wood Garden in Northamptonshire today to see the spring flowers and enjoy a lunch in the fresh air.
Lots of work has gone on over the winter in the garden. They have been coping with Ash Die-back disease which involves removing the affected trees and then replanting.
The planting is well under way so it will be interesting to revisit later in the year. In addition there is a programme of replacing the older beech trees to make sure there will be a beech wood area for the next generations.
The blip could have been more snowdrops as there were thousands in full bloom but this early butterfly was the unexpected picture of the day,. Oh
