Birthday Outing

I took my friend out to lunch to celebrate her 75th birthday. We had a wonderful meal and good conversation. We have been friends since I was 30 and she 35. We were in a women's support group together and we've never stopped being there for each other. Her husband passed away just a few months ago and she's really having a hard time on her own. We're going to start looking at assisted living places for her soon.  So our day was bittersweet.
