Oamaru Harbour

Stinking hot today.  As I drove through Ashburton the van told me it was 33 degrees outside, then going through Timaru it was 35.  Fortunately its an almost balmy 29 here in Oamaru.

I dont work Fridays and we have Monday off here for 'Waitangi Weekend' - sort of like Australia Day or 4th of July.  Or for the British I guess it's the equivalent of a bank holiday.  So I've packed the grandson up and we've headed away.  

We had intended to go to Hanmer but they were fully booked out for the long weekend so we tossed a coin and opted for Oamaru.  I'm always up for a visit to Whitestone Cheese so no complaints from me.  Especially when I managed to nab the best waterfront site.
