An ordinary life....

A wee surprise...

I awoke this morning from a very realistic dream that the roof had blown off the house!  Given that almost half of last year as given over to getting a new roof, it was no wonder I was in a cold sweat.  Never been so happy to wake up!

Tesco arrived at 8.45am.  David is loving our new food ordering system.  With Mindful Chef delivering the ingredients for five out of seven meals our Tesco order is greatly reduced so it was delivered and put away in less than 15 mins then he was off to play golf with Keith at Leven.

I had planned to get back into my drawing course today but my watercolour tray had some left over paint from ages ago and the colours reminded me of spring, so I ended up painting some small watercolours of spring flowers.  They're only 12cm x 12cm so will use them to stick on greetings cards.  Others in extras.

David had a great round of golf and beat Keith (who plays off 3.  David most certainly doesn't! lol) so he was in a very good mood when he got home.  As was I when he handed me a gift bag and I opened it to find two tickets to an Evening with Richard E Grant in Perth in May, a reservation for dinner at Cafe Kisa in Perth beforehand, and Richard E Grant's memoir!  What a lovely surprise!

I was confused as he's already bought my birthday gift but apparently he saw an advert for the An Evening With thing and just thought I'd enjoy it.  He's right, I will!  I do think Richard E Grant is the loveliest man.  Quite bonkers but so genuine :-) I will have my tissues with me though as he talks about his late wife and his grief at her loss after more than thirty years together.  I started reading the Memoir before dinner (nearly half way through already!) and it's a stunning testament to their love and life together.  With lots of funny bits too.  Well done D!  And thank you :-)))

D weighed Alan tonight as the dietician is popping in tomorrow for a catch up.  His weight is down a little but not as much as I was expecting.  Not surprising after being ill and having a reduced appetite for nearly a month. Still above 50kgs though, which is great.

PS Tried on six dresses last night.  Only one of them is a possible contender for the wedding!
