Wall

There is a panorama which depicts the Berlin wall as it would have looked between 1961 and 1989. Looking from the west towards the DDR the watch tower is chilling. Watching while at the same time also being watched by people on the platforms which were built and people could look over towards East Germany. Finished reading the huge history book which is full of interesting facts about Germany and Berlin that I had no idea about.

In a funny coincidence we happened to be in the same place at the same time as the Mayor of Berlin. Having had to learn her name it was very odd to see her in gritty Berlin. She was happy to have a photo taken with our group. There may be an election this month. All the stamps have to be in the right order first.
