D.E.A.D.

This is a northern short-tailed shrew. A dead one. The Husband found it standing, dead, on our front porch. With, I might add, a piece of grass type stuff in its mouth. Goodness only knows. I have - somewhat oddly - only ever seen dead ones. This may be the third. They are actually venomous - which for us would mean a painful bite, but for a small mammal might mean death, or at the very least some serious unpleasantness.
