Birthday Rose from Australia via M&S

A lovely surprise today, a rose, chocolates and champagne from my daughter in Australia - a big thank you to you all if you are reading this. The rose was a great idea - I can plant it in the front garden and watch it flower each year and we'll take the chocolates and champagne with us to Northumberland next week.

A tidying day at home today and then a trip over to mums so she could have her hair cut. It's been good to feel the benefits of some sun today and I spent a pleasant hour pulling up weeds while the hair cutting happened and clothes were retrieved for next week.

The forecast for next week is gloomy, wet and cold. And it's May!
