Fading Beauty

Arabella Amarylis has been in full bloom for a couple of days but the first of her flowers is starting to fade.  Her petals are thinning and the veins are showing more prominently.  Human skin does the same as one ages.  I remember my grandmother's skin late in her life.  It was paper thin, nearly translucent. There is still beauty in those withered petals with the light coming through.  Welcome February!  You are off to a frigid start.  Only 2F this morning at the cafe.
