Our school lay in the flight path of the Lancaster Bomber that flew over the Derwent Reservoir and onto Chatsworth House this afternoon. I remember it doing it a few years back, such a majestic sight. After the remaining SAT papers and a quick sarnie, we rushed down to the sports field to catch it as it flew directly overhead.

I didn't have the time for proper lenses, decent vantage point, etc - but did get a few snaps that I put up on the school's blog. I have always liked the silhouette of a Spitfire - such an icon.

I know that SimonC was up above us, I am down there somewhere close in his amazing shot :)
