General strikes

I did think I might get a bus downtown and waited for a while... usually the times indicated on the signs like this one are reliable indicators of how long the wait will be, but not today. The numbers kept changing, up and down, and when a bus finally came to the stop where I was waiting with a dozen other people, it was already packed and didn't bother to stop for us. I knew the metro wasn't running at regular capacity either, so I changed my plans and worked from home, lucky to have that option. J did a long run along the quais.
