On Wallingford bridge
A very tiring day spent shovelling horse poo into the boot of the car at the stables, taking it home then digging it out and wheeling it around to the back garden to distribute.
We had a quick trip to Wallingford in the morning. I've always admired the bridge here, it was one of the first Thames crossings and is believed to have been built in the early 12th century. Apparently some of the pillars still have their medieval core. In all it is nearly 300 metres long and has 19 stone arches. They don't make them like this anymore. The new Winterbrook (or Wallingford Bypass) bridge is a very utilitarian steel and concrete nonentity.
