Channelside

A beautiful sunny day. Not a breath of wind. We walked up over the 'slagbank', now part of the Channelside walk. Once a mile long huge mound of slag left over from the iron works. Some of it was reduced for road building once the iron and steel works closed. The rest was grassed over and shrubs planted.
