In the Sun

A gull on top of the chimneys across the road. Later the sides at football were uneven again and we started a man down. You wouldn't have known as we raced to a six goal lead. I had one neat assist but by finishing was poor when I had my own chances - either straight at the keeper or not even on target. The sides got shuffled a little to even things up, swapping one of our better players over. And it did make a difference as they got back to level. I managed to be in the right place to steer in a goal - my first of the year. Shortly afterwards, with us still defending out lead, the boys' team coming on after us called for time as the other team were about to take a corner, but then said we should play out the set piece. Fortunately the ball bounced high and wide and we had won by one and, as it turned out, I'd scored the winner. Maybe I've not completely lost my touch after all.
