Back in cairns. 

Yesterday...
8am flight from Perth to Brisbane arriving in Cairns at about 6pm last night. Taxi across town with some of the others, collected keys, to the work apartment by walking then scooter then uber as the rains came down. Uber eats and phone dies from being waterlogged. 

I was stressing out as all the information for the AUD265 canyoning tour was on the phone and I had no internet. Eventually dried the phone by waving it under a fan. 

Today...
530am getting ready for the canyoning they call me and say the tour is off, the water levels are too high. So I head over to the dive company I sometimes volunteer with to see if they have any volunteer spots for today. Turns out they didn't but I could get a good deal on a last minute day trip.

So that's how I ended up going to the great barrier reef today for 3 dives. I was diving with nice girl from Chile who i had been paired up with by the dive company. For the whole day she thought I had a husband because she misheard "my housemate is from Chile too" as "my husband is from chile too"

Went out for dinner with the team to quite a fancy restaurant, work perks!

Tomorrow I'll start work proper, today was just a day off.
