The road is closed

Not because of this collapse of the footpath, alone. Further along Scenic Drive towards Titirangi a 30 m collapse of road and footpathe took out a section of the water mains. The road is closed so that Watercare (the Council owned water 'company') can make at least a temporary fix to ensure provision of water and removal of waste water. This slip is no more than 10 m and does not extend into the roadway; gives some idea of just how big the big one is.

Our incompetent, publicity seeking, Mayor had as one of his campaign promises that he would rid Auckland of traffic cones. The lack of appropriate maintenance and upgrade of the roads has meant that we have hundreds more cones needed to keep people safe.

Auckland family joined us for lunch today; no one wanted to leave home yesterday so we gathered today to mark the anniversary.
