Spielberg
We have just been to see The Fablemans, the semi-autobiographical film of Sam Spielberg.
As he is one of the greatest film directors of the 20th century I expected it to focus on his achievements.
Instead it concentrates on his early life, how he came to discover his love of filmmaking and the Antisemitism he faced growing up in California. Also he revealed for the first time the dark secret, his mother’s secret affair with their uncle Benny and the subsequent divorce..
It’s a truly remarkable film. Highly recommend it.
