Radio France

I got us discounted tickets to hear the last concert in the "Nadia Boulanger" series at Radio France this afternoon. (You can see that we are pretty high up in the rafters!). The choir of Radio France performed works by Copland, Bernstein and Stravinsky, all students or friends of Boulanger. J liked Copland's "The Lark" the best and I really enjoyed Bernstein's "Chicester Psalms". We both agreed that "The Rite of Spring", performed by two organists, one of them a music prof at McGill, was pretty incredible. 

Two facts I've learned recently: (1) the Radio France building is known as "le fromage" because it is round and white and (2) Pierre Boulez lived in one of the high rises across the river from it, in the 15th arr.
