Revalidation

Every three years as a nurse we have to Revalidate, this involves evidencing that we have worked sufficient hours and taken on enough extra study to maintain our knowledge. That for me is the easy bit. We also have to write 5 reflections on our practice or our study, any event that has happened over the last three years - don’t get me wrong I value reflection and do it constantly through conversation, through de-briefs and internal thoughts and musings but I hate having to put it into words so it makes it really difficult to prepare for my Revalidation discussion.
Maybe in three years time I’ll be able to retire and escape the torture of proving I’m fit to do what I’m doing!
