Friends

My mum once said to me that I should never have children because I didn't have enough patience.
She may well have been right.

So I shan't bore you but it's still no better. There are now teachers and GPs involved and I once again blubbed all over anyone that said hello in the playground this morning. Thank fuck goodness the sun had come out and I could hide behind my sunglasses at last.

An hour or so later my friend banged on the door, thrust this plant into my hand and encouraged me to noisily sob into her shoulder. I don't think I left snot trails and I did make her coffee.
As she was leaving she told me to meet her in a bit at her gym for a swim. So I did.
That's 3 more propoints towards wine with some other friends tonight.

So the thing is, that maybe without kids I might not be going quite so mad right now, but without kids, I know I wouldn't have amazing, supportive friends to lean on. I've made firmer friendships in the last 9 years, both in real life and in internetland than I had in the 25 years before that.
And I'm very grateful.
