Grass factory
Having given Dave a hard time of late, here is a Blip of tractors for him.
Taken at the "Grass Drying Plant" at Sontheim, a JCB 3230 with Pöttinger 7210 silage trailer capable of loading 72m³ of grass. The plant has another JCB 3230 and an older Unimog both with slightly smaller trailers. These vehicles are used on a contractor basis, picking up farmers grass & delivering here. Many farmers use their own equipment. The grass is dumped on the tarmac & then the Volvo loader heaves the piles on to a conveyor band where it is dried & pellets or even complete dried grass bales are made. The heaps of grass are kept seperate, you get the pellets from your own grass, not from a general pile.
I have Bliped on the pro/cons of this in the past. "Our" helpful farmer Franz had to use the facility yesterday as he had cut about 8 loads of grass too much. His silage load was full and so he took the excess grass here and will pick up the dried grass pellets today.
