Witch Hazel (Hamamelis)

This Witch Hazel (or Hamamelis) has just come into flower in the garden in the last few days. This plant has an unfortunate history - it was bought several years ago and in its first winter, when covered in flowers, it was attacked by the storm known as the "Beast from the East". This left mostly bare stems but at last, it is recovering.
