Patience is a virtue...
Woke up to a message from Jordan saying Alan had a settled night and his stats are all good. Hospital discharge going ahead. Woo hoo!!! :-))
Ally popped in on her way to the hospital and collected clothes for Alan and picked up his car. David followed her in our car as we were worried there would be a delay in getting his medications from the hospital pharmacy so two cars meant Ally could head home with Alan and David could wait for the medication.
Happily both Alan and the medication were ready at the same time and I got a text from D just after 10.30am to say they were on their way home. I made the mistake of telling Lola who went from lazily snuggling her blankie to standing guard at the front door!
And then they were here!
Alan looked shattered but happy to be home. He wanted to sit in his living room and watch tv for a little while, then after that Ally had him showered, shaved and hair brushed in a blink! First shower in two weeks! Don't think he knew what had hit him but he looked so much better afterwards and he was full of smiles and laughter. We've been getting plenty smiles over the last few days but that's the first time we've had laughter :-)
He wanted David's company for a while this afternoon while he watched tv, then later on he went to bed for a snooze and wanted my company. It was lovely to sit with him at home rather than the hospital, in peace perfect peace (hospital is a noisy place)
So first day home and all seems well. Stats are good, his mood is good and he looks comfortable, and if Alan is happy, we're happy :-))
