Hotel California
Lozarithm has pointed out that several of my blips on this trip have referenced song titles. I didn't notice, even when I typed Route 66.
But this one is more deliberate, for lozarithm. This, in Todos Santos on the Pacific coast of Baja California, is the original hotel (built 1950) that inspired the song. It now has a nice cafe/restaurant and shops as well as accommodation, and business is booming. People of all ages (i.e. not just oldies) know the song and want to have their photo taken at the famous hotel.
Todos Santos is a delightful old town and the whole of this area has not yet been over-developed. To get to the beach (where turtles lay their eggs) you go down a narrow dirt track and there is only room for 2 or 3 cars at the beach - that's undeveloped.
