Red tape

I’ve been sorting out the old Clio back from Italy. First you need custom a clearance for any import taxes due. The re-registration with DVLA. Then UK plates (Oentlabd Components are great). Then non- resident insurance. Then UK MOT.

At one point today I had the car on a six hour temporary insurance to go up to the garage.

Slowly slowly I’m getting there. The premium is £545 and non refundable. Worth more than the car practically but still cheaper than endless hire cars.

On which point having dropped off the hire car at the excellent East London Street depot I walked back through the Botanics in crisp sunshine.
