Engagement

I had a relatively early start today, as I had to print off copies of the exercises for my students before the lab started at 10:00. Unfortunately, the installation of the software had failed so, having told them that they should use University PCs in order to have a proper monitor, they had to resort to laptops. After that, the session went very well, with many students almost getting most or even all of the way through the work. Engagement of the students seems so much better this year, and some of that is due to the brand new teaching building (pictured) being an attractive space for students to spend time.

In the afternoon, I had a couple of pleasant student meetings, but also got on well with software tasks. Back home, K came around to eat and get document to take to London on Monday, when she and A will have appointments necessary to renew their French passports.
