Irruption!
Along with the heavy snow fall, in blew an irruption of (hundreds) of American robins and cedar waxwings. They started on the hollies but then discovered the winterberries and picked them clean within hours. We expect to see the birds return tomorrow since many holly berries remain.
In the extra you can see the waxwings in our neighbor's maple tree, waiting to dive down to our trees again. They circled and fed and circled and fed off and on all day.
It's really an amazing sight seeing so many so close all at once. Conditions were not ideal for photography through the window on a gloomy snowy day, but, that's why we have editing software.
