Life through my eyes

By Amanda_T

Oops I did it again!

Several times in fact!  Just as well there's a hanging basket to break his fall.

Today has been a long day.  I heard Mr T huffing and puffing just before 04:00.  He thought he had to get up but he didn't think he had any clothes.  He'd left his oranges outside and someone would nick them!  Suitably reassured he then went back to sleep and past his normal wake up time but he was settled so I didn't wake him up.

All was going ok at midday when we actually started to post his Blip.  A different neighbour came over this afternoon.  She's just retired and so we have an arrangement that will allow me a couple of hours completely to myself each week!  Mr T was quite hesitant so today I went upstairs and did some decorating in his room.  They got on well, but it was as well I stayed as that was when the catheter troubles began.  None of the usual tricks were working and his watch pinged out two high heart rate alerts so I called the DNs.  A lovely Welsh nurse, who was here last with the burn, was here within an hour and agreed it looked like the catheter was blocked.  She is one of the very best ones, and spent lots of time making it as comfortable as possible for Mr T.

I shall endeavour to catch up with journals, if I don't catch up with yesterday's comments, thank you all so much for all the stars, hearts and lovely comments.

Creative writing bootcamp week 2 tonight.  To be honest I was shattered and I was happy even to think of words to right.  In the first part we had some more theory and then four pictures and 15 minutes to write based on what we'd learnt so far.  I finished my first one and wrote a short second one.  In the second part he reviewed mine and two other people's piece of work we submitted last week.  That was very useful.

Seasons

Golden leaves blanket the ground;
They make a crushing sound.

Golden leaves swishing on the trees;
They whisper in the breeze.

Mist fills the air;
Deers rut without a care.

Squirrels scurry here and there;
Gathering bountiful Autumn fare.

I peer into the gloom;
Why were you taken so soon?

Summer, Autumn, Winter and Spring;
Without you they don't mean a thing.

Flashback

I see you skipping towards me.
A joyful smile on your face.

A flashback to another time and place.

Another girl, your age, running this time.
An agonised contorted expression on her face.
