Fleetwith Pike
It's Wednesday and I've noticed that whatever the weather is in the morning it changes in the afternoon. That was the case today. Rain and then very fine drizzle wind a sky a grey colour and nothing else. A day for taking 'rain' photos for the next U3a topic, by the time I was ready there was a change beginning at home so here we are at Buttermere with clouds that make the sky nicer than a total flat grey! It had rained here as you can see by the puddle on the left. The river on the right flows into Loweswater, on to Cockermouth where it joins the Derwent. The larches on the right have a mixture of colour and the main tree on the right is still standing. When I first saw this tree approximately 40 years ago it had more land around it and was a pleasant place to sit. Fleetwith Pike stands out in the distance with a hint of weak sunshine on its slope.
My grandson's birthday today and I'll be seeing him soon.
