Sleeping soundly
Reg loves to sleep with his head hanging off the edge of wherever he sleeps, even in his own bed on the floor!
Kath and I had a couple of hours at the recycle shop again this morning sorting and cleaning. More piles of things destined for various places. We could easily have spent longer as it is almost a never ending job, but it was the sewing group meet this afternoon in the village hall. We went up about midday, ate our lunch and put out tables ready for the afternoon. We're never quite sure how many will come but we like to make sure there are enough seats so no one feels awkward when they come in. We had two new ladies today, only new to the group as we all know each other from various other groups or coffee mornings. There was 12 of us altogether making for a jolly afternoon with as much chatter as sewing. We really must give our group a proper name as it definitely isn't just sewing. All manner of crafts are enjoyed. Today there was knitting, crochet, embroidery and matting. One of the group has recently returned from New Zealand visiting her son and brought a large slab of chocolate for us to share, there was also a few cuppas enjoyed too!
I arrived home and my David Austin Rose had been delivered, a gift from a friend to say thank you. I love roses and haven't had the courage to try and grow them here yet. They do grow in gardens round and about so I'm hoping I will have success.it's one of my favourites that I grew in my previous garden so I do hope it survives.
I roasted Brussels sprouts from the garden with onions and garlic to go with dinner and was pleased they turned out better than I thought they might!
I crocheted a few more squares this evening and caught up with Silent Witness from last night.
Now it's time to read a few pages of my book before I drop off, so it's goodnight from me.
