South Georgia - Day One

We arrived at South Georgia overnight and, despite the winds preventing landings yet again, had a truly unforgettable day of scenery, penguins, seals and history.

In the morning, a zodiac cruise in Gold Harbour - king penguins, glaciers, big brown fluffy moulting chicks!

Afternoon, a zodiac cruise round Royal Bay - fur seals, pups, and colonies of macaroni penguins! All photos taken from a moving vessel so not ideal, but so joyful to just watch.

After dinner a ship cruise into Drygalski Fjord - 1000m peaks, glaciers, waterfalls, bergs and a fearsome biting wind. What a day!
