Fire

Was on a bus on my way to yoga, and thought it odd as we passed Picardy Place that the haar seemed to be in on York Place whereas Leith St was completely clear. All became revealed when we got round the corner onto Princes St to see numerous fire engines plus smoke billowing out of the back of the old Jenner's building. Couldn't get a photo then, but this was on my way back.

According to the news, the fire had broken out in the basement, and according to a fellow yogi who used to have a Saturday job there, the basement is a maze of tunnels which even extend underneath Rose Street. Also several firefighters were injured, one critically.

I had been thinking about Jenner's wonderful wood-panelled interior, but now I'm just thinking about the firefighter(s).
