Walked down into town for an informal interview with a potential new Chair for a Board….very impressive and also a very warm and thoughtful person…just what we need. Back home and settled to some sorting and admin, although the flat really needs a bit of a cleanup but that will have to wait.
Tasted my marmalade…pleased it’s worked out well despite not really giving it a lot of attention when I made it.
A zoom call in the afternoon that was strange…some very strong views and I felt very much on the fringes of the discussion (thank goodness!). Followed up by a tea with GB who’d contacted me to ask for some career advice. Nice to see him again and we had a good chat.
Book group in the evening where we were discussing Paper Cup by Karen Campbell. We’d all finished it and although there were some irritations with parts of it we generally enjoyed it (and so of course didn’t discuss it for long!). It was a full house so as usual ended up with lots of chat, sometimes with several simultaneous different conversations going on at once. We ranged over so many different topics but no doubt the funniest moment was hazelh’s likening of our traditional Maltesers to cocaine….!
MH had made a Burns inspired supper and so as we prepared to dig in, we had the address to the haggis (pie), and later had some other Burns poems and themed badges to take home. Lovely evening.
Less successful journey home…lost an earring somewhere and couldn’t park when I got home so had to leave it on a meter some distance away and will need to get up to move it first thing
