Lukas

We've known and supported him, in our own way, since he was a little kid, meeting him in the evenings as we walked home up Rua Santa Clara in Copacabana, Rio de Janeiro. He's now 18 and an about-to-be father.  As genuinely gentle as he appears, local intelligence tells us he's reluctant to take up a full time job as he, presumably, gets more from begging.  I'd love to coach him about longer term horizons but cannot just now.  We give him what should be a stimulus into his weekly income . . . this may be reinforcing his strategy but, to be honest, we are happy if it gives him a little unexpected boost for the week.
